Why I Built Inclusive Learning Circle
Â
There wasn’t one big turning point. It was a thousand small moments.
Â
Moments when I didn’t know how to help my son. Moments when advice from books and professionals didn’t match our life. Moments when I realized—if I wanted a different kind of support, I’d have to create it.
Â
So I started paying attention. What helped him feel safe? What helped me stay steady? What actually worked—without shame, without pressure?
Â
Inclusive Learning Circle was born from that long, quiet process. Not as a perfect roadmap, but as a place to pause, reflect, and build real skills that make daily life better.
My Journey
Â
I didn’t step into this work because I always knew what to do. I stepped in because I didn’t.
Â
Years ago, I was a mother sitting in therapy waiting rooms, in school meetings, in moments of doubt, trying to make sense of a world that didn’t seem designed for my son. I remember the overwhelm, the weight of expectations, and the quiet question running through my head: “Is there anyone who truly understands?”
Â
So I began to learn — from real life. From meltdowns in public places. From moments of rupture and repair. From the delicate work of holding my child’s dignity while also holding firm boundaries. From watching what helped him—and what hurt him.
Â
Over time, I realized that the most powerful shifts didn’t come from changing my child. They came from how I showed up. How I listened. How I regulated. How I created space for his needs, not despite who he was—but because of who he was.
